ZYRE 03 was released on October 1, 2025. It is an innovative product that stands apart from BUTTERFLY’s era-defining Rubbers such as TENERGY and DIGNICS, but in Japan, its price of over 10,000 yen and its unique structure and hitting feel sparked a wave of both praise and criticism. 

Eight months after its release (as of June 2026), how has the market responded? We want to examine “what has happened since ZYRE.”

It seems the “monster” BUTTERFLY unleashes on the world keeps evolving each time

 ZYRE 03 (hereinafter “ZYRE”), released by Tamas (BUTTERFLY) on October 1, 2025, is an innovative Rubber that not everyone can use. Looking back, BRYCE was born in 1997, when speed-boosting adhesive glue was at its peak. It opened up the new frontier of “tensor” Rubbers, which increase rebound by putting the Rubber under tension, and pushed the market price of backhand inverted Rubbers from around 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen. But at the time, glue performance was dominant, so one could say the Rubber’s inherent performance was hidden. Meanwhile, TENERGY, released in 2008 in anticipation of the ban on glue, got off to a quiet start at first, but after glue was banned it became an explosive hit. It established the “spin tensor” category.
